There will be an opening act so come early to soak in the sun and enjoy live entertainment.

G. Love has come a long way in the last 23 years since being discovered in a Boston pub by drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens. After playing together, they brought in upright bassist James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott, and G. Love and Special Sauce was born. Their self-titled debut featuring the hit “Cold Beverage” wound up going gold, and the band became known for their live shows. After playing with and without Special Sauce over the years, the trio is back together, creating their down and dirty “trashcan blues” sound with their latest album Love Saves the Day, released last October. Live shows featuring raw grooves and funky rock ‘n’ roll are still a rush for the group, with G. Love proudly describing himself as a road dog who “will be touring until I fall off the stage.” Telluride is thrilled to welcome G. Love and Special Sauce back to celebrate the end of the 2016-2017 ski season.

TELLURIDE BALLOON FESTIVAL

June 2-4, 2017

Starting: Friday, Jun 02, 2017 Ending: Sunday, Jun 04, 2017

Town of TellurideTelluride, CO81435

More Details

June 2-4, 2017

While the Telluride Balloon Festival is one of the smaller festivals, it is arguably the most beautiful of the season. Weather permitting, dozens of hot air balloons launch from Town Park on the east end of town and sail down the valley landing about one mile out of town. The balloons launch at sunrise (between 6:45 and 7 am) and bystanders often get to help with the launch.

On Saturday night of the festival, the balloon pilots inflate their balloons along Main Street and fire up the propane for the "Glow". This is a beautiful and incredibly unique sight.

All of the events are subject to weather conditions -- The box canyon is a very tricky place to fly as we are surrounded by the San Juan Mountains. But if you are lucky enough to get a chance to experience the flight of the balloons, it is an unparalleled moment. This event is entirely free; remember to bring your camera!

Performers regularly say that Telluride is, "the most beautiful place I've ever played." We agree.

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival is a weekend celebration of Americana roots music where artists are encouraged to push the limits of their genre. Collaborations between the best of the best are often the highlights of each year's festival.

This is a week of uncommon musical riches: Main stage performances in Town Park throughout the day, intimate masters workshops on the Elks Park stage on Main Street in downtown, prestigious band and songwriting contests, late-night Nightgrass concerts at every indoor venue in town, and jam sessions on sidewalks and throughout the campgrounds.

The festival often coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year and the beginning of summer. it's a magical time of sunlight and music, when the high country of Colorado puts away its winter ski gear and grabs hiking boots, kayaks, low-back festival chairs, and journeys to the box canyon for the ultimate bluegrass music experience.

This year there will be performances by Sam Bush Band, Brandi Carlile, Dierks Bentley, Dispatch, Greensky Bluegrass and many more. To purchase tickets and for more information visit the Telluride Bluegrass Website.

HARDROCK 100 ENDURANCE RACE

July 14-16, 2017 6:00 am

Starting: Friday, Jul 14, 2017 Ending: Sunday, Jul 16, 2017

More Details

July 14-16, 2017 6:00 am

The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is an ultramarathon of 100.5 miles, 33,050 feet of elevation climb, 33,050 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 66,100 feet ran at an average of over 11,000 feet.

The race is held on a loop course, including 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross country terrain in Southern Colorado's San Juan Mountain range.

The run begins and ends in Silverton, Colorado and travels through Telluride, Ouray and the ghost town of Sherman, and crossing 13 major mountain passes in the 12,000 to 13,000 foot (elevation) range. Completion of the event is marked by kissing the Hardrock, a picture of a ram's head painted on a large stone.

This is a graduate level endurance run. Moutaineering, wilderness survival, and wilderness navigation skills are key. The cut off time for finishing the race is 48 hours. Current course records are held by Killian Jornet (22:41) in 2014 and Diana Finkel (27:18) in 2009.

The Hardrock 100 is the centerpiece of the Rocky Mountain Slam, the completion of which requires a finish at the Hardrock race, and three of four other races in the Rocky Mountains (Leadville 100, Bear 100 Mile Endurance Run, Bighorn 100, and the Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run).
